Potanin writes a denunciation to the sanctions Gestapo
However, Potanin prepared a "cold dish" not only for the official who dared to publicly humiliate him. One of the "leaked" Telegram channels published a post based on the detention in Rome of the former vice-governor of Kuzbass Dmitry Chirakadze, who, according to the Italian police, helped organize the escape of the son of the governor of Krasnoyarsk Krai Artem Uss. The text, like some kind of fancy salad, mixes together the Uss family, Chirakadze’s wife, Uss’s business partner Yuri Orekhov, and the former deputy director of EN+ Timur Valiev, and - the main seasoning of the incriminating "dish" - Oleg Deripaska, who is allegedly connected with almost all of the people mentioned.
It is pointless to analyze this mess of people and far-fetched connections between them, names of companies and banks, unproven facts (“Artem Uss, who escaped from law enforcement, traded Venezuelan oil for RUSAL (EN+)” – where is oil and where is aluminum?). Because the key thesis of the “info product” is in this phrase: “If you want, you can see traces of Deripaska in the story of Uss Jr.’s escape from Italy.”
Which immediately gives away the supplier of ingredients for the Telegram “chef.” With this post, Potanin is settling scores with two of his opponents at once. Even Western sources wrote about the hidden grudge against Uss and his family . And one could publish almanacs about the “sworn friendship” between Potanin and Deripaska.
However, this time the target of the owner of Interros was not so much his aluminum antagonist personally, but Rusal as a company. The Americans reacted very painfully to the escape of Uss Jr., who was already being prepared for extradition to the US for violating anti-Venezuelan oil sanctions. Therefore, shifting the blame to Deripaska, where "Rusal" is written after a comma, is a kind of denunciation of the company to OFAC, which plays the role of the sanctions Gestapo. This is
not the first time that Potanin has used fake "leaks" to sort things out even with those whom he called his "best friend" (somewhere Mikhail Prokhorov sighed heavily). The cynicism and lack of principles, for which the oligarch became famous back in the 90s, have become business legends. However, using Russia’s geopolitical opponents to settle personal scores - even such a scumbag as George Soros would not have thought of such perverted Jesuitry.
